Hot or Cold?

I've run into too many people who have decided that crochet items are only for the winter months.  They probably couldn't be more wrong.

I've become a bit of a fanatic when it comes to crochet patterns.  As a matter of fact, if you want to see some of the coolest patterns around, you absolutely must visit the Ravelry site.   It's addicting, I tell you.  What I have discovered is that crocheting is nothing like it was when I was young.  That's right.  This is no longer our grandmothers' crochet world.

Things have changed.  It's trendy.  It's modern.  It's cool.  And, it's still awesome, even as we head into our hotter months, to create something so adorable and so airy that even the smallest baby is comfortable.

While looking for something to make for a baby shower gift, I stumbled across the Baby Girl Sleeper Set pattern by Abigail Goss.  Squeal-worthy, no?  It's newborn size, and it's not particulary a dress, although you could lengthen it enough to be one.  But, it's a little top with bloomers.  So completely cute.

So, here's what I've managed to do in the past two weeks:

I cannot wait to give these away...and I cannot wait to make more!

I've found what I love to do.

Your profession is not what brings home your paycheck. Your profession is what you were put on earth to do. With such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling. (Vincent van Gogh)

  1. Beyond adorable! I so agree with your comment "I've found what I love to do." I hate to go to sleep at night sometimes because it means I have to stop! LOL I've been out of work for awhile - and while the bank account would like me to be back at work, I can't imagine not being able to crochet all the time! I'm so addicted - and have been for more than a year now!

  2. I have had so many late nights like that! I promise myself that it's only going to be an hour, and the next thing I know, it's three hours. I eat, sleep, and breathe crochet, and my yarn stash is shameful!

I always say that I love what I do (my job), but I am not doing what I love. Huge difference!
